Frequently Asked Questions
Who runs the classes?
The classes are designed and run by qualified physiotherapists. All the exercises are evidence based!
My baby hasn’t been diagnosed with anything, why do they need physiotherapy?
These classes are for general development with a focus on milestones. These exercises can be easily replicated at home. They’re a fun activity for both you and your baby to enjoy together!
How much do the classes cost?
The class is $30. You can attend one class before committing to the rest of the term. On completion of this class you will be sent a bulk invoice for the remaining sessions. This is to confirm your spot and ensure we don’t overbook. Following your first session, if you would rather attend on a casual basis the cost will be $35 per class.
Am I eligible for private health rebate?
As the class is run by physiotherapists you may be eligible to claim for the classes. Whether you receive a rebate is dependent on your insurance company and individual coverage.
How can I claim for the class?
On completion of the term you will be provided with an attendance form and the invoice. Both of these need to be sent to your provider for claiming.
What if my baby needs to eat, sleep or be changed in a class?
You can step out of the class at any time to address your baby’s needs. We have time at the end of the class for you to practice anything you may have missed. All activities are designed to be practiced at home as well so baby does not miss out!
What if my child has mastered the skills in their age range do I need to start in that class?
The age range is a guide for the average time a baby meets their milestones. If your baby has already exceeded the skills they are always welcome in the next age group.
What if my Child is 5.5 months. Can I start in the 6-9 month class?
Of course! If your child has mastered the milestones in the other class they are always welcome to start in the next age group. We are always happy to assist with any queries.
What if my child hasn’t been able to reach the required milestone?
These classes provide general age appropriate exercises for your baby. The aim is for you to go home and practice with your baby. If you have any concerns or specific queries we can refer you to a specialised physiotherapist to address your baby’s specific needs.
Can I start midway through a term?
You are welcome to start at any time. However, these classes are designed to build on the previous ones and become progressively more challenging.
Can I attend the class if my child has torticolis?
You most certainly can. Just remember while we will provide a few tips and tricks, we will not be providing individual treatment to the baby.
Can I attend the class if my child has hip dysplasia?
At this stage we require GP clearance before babies with hip dysplasia can attend the class.
Can I repeat a class?
We love that you enjoy a class so much you would want to repeat it! Provided we have space you and your baby are welcome any time.
What happens if I miss a class?
If we have space in another class we will definitely try and organise you to make up a class.
Do you do one on one physiotherapy?
Unfortunately not. We can point you in the direction of another physiotherapist who will attend to your child’s individual needs.
What if I have twins?
We provide a discount for multiples. However, in order for your baby to get the best out of the classes we would need one parent/caregiver per child.
